Some operators prefer to use one piece bits rather than roller cones. The Chomp, Bear Claw, Hurricane and Aardvark well completion mill bits are an excellent choice because they guarantee no lost rig time fishing for cones.
Heavy duty design combined with over 50 years of experience of drill bit tooling and manufacturing ensures a high success rate. As a matter of fact, the current success rate is 99.09%.
Each well completion drill bit is specifically designed for a particular purpose: drilling cement, milling cast iron or other metals, high pressure multiple plugs and cemented pipe, milling composite plugs and other extremely hard and abrasive materials.
Full Body Chomp Mills are ideal in applications that involve milling of cast iron and other metal or combination of cement and cast iron. Large ports for reverse circulation. (can be adjusted as needed) |
Full Body Bear Claw Mills are ideal for drilling cement. Not recommended for drilling metal. Large ports for reverse circulation. (can be adjusted as needed) |
FBC1S Hurricane Mills are recommended for milling cement and composite plugs. The FBC1S Hurricane has domed inserts on the outer diameter for increased durability and chisel inserts in the inner rows for faster penetration. |
For applications involving the drilling of metal, the FBCS Hurricane Mill has all domed inserts and is recommended for use in applications that involve milling composite and cast iron plugs, other metal and cement. The FBCS is suitable for a wider range of applications. Both the FBC1S and FBCS Hurricane mills incorporate a spiral design with channels for improved cleaning and circulation. (can be adjusted as needed) |
Aardvark full body tapered mill is recommended for milling high pressure composite plugs. It can also be used for cement and cast iron milling. The Aardvark's unique design can rapidly mill multiple (from 1 to 20) composite plugs. (can be adjusted as needed) |
PDC Mills are used for milling extremely hard and abrasive materials. Uses range from milling hard cement and sand to milling hard scales, such as barium scale. Not to be used when any metal will be encountered. Hurricane style PDC Mills are available in limited sizes. PDC Mills offer the ability to mill very hard cement and scales without changing mills. PDC inserts for extended wear and abrasion resistance. Full body design (no fishing for lost cones). CNC machined bodies and threads for accuracy. Bodies manufactured from 4140 HT steel. Sizes available from 1 3/4 inch to 8 3/4 inch in 1/8 inch increments. Circulation ports from 5/16 inch to 1 1/8 inch. |
